The FileMaker Platform is a line of products that all work together to help you streamline your business. Use FileMaker Pro on a Windows or Mac computer to create your custom business solution. To run your solution on iPad or iPhone, use the FileMaker Go app available on the App Store. For a small team, use FileMaker Pro to share your solution with up to 5 other FileMaker Pro or FileMaker Go users.
For larger groups, use FileMaker Server to share your solution. FileMaker Server also provides additional security and many robust sharing features, including the ability to access your solution from a web browser, using FileMaker WebDirect technology.

FileMaker Team Licensing
FileMaker has simplified its licensing structure to make it easier for you to determine what licensing will be required to deploy your solution.
Simply determine how many people will need to access your solution using the FileMaker Platform. Each user can connect using FileMaker Pro for Windows or Mac, FileMaker Go for iPad or iPhone, or FileMaker WebDirect using a web browser or an Android phone. Each user will be connected to FileMaker Server, which is included as part of the Team License, so they can securely share information in real time.
Team licensing is available starting with 5 users in increments of 5. So for example, if you anticipate having 28 users, you will need to purchase the team license for 30 users. Note that each licensed user may connect to FileMaker Server with only one client at a time.

FileMaker Licensing - Legacy
If you currently have FileMaker licensing that is different from what is outlined above (for example, licensing based on concurrent connections), you can continue with your existing licensing arrangement at this time. There is no immediate need to change over to the Team Licensing program unless you want to.
